What Do You Think of Microsoft’s New Logo?
Microsoft’s shaking things up for the first time since 1987 with its updated logo, which looks a lot lighter and more colorful. Its heavy, boldfaced logo is a thing of the past, banished today with the opening of the 23rd Microsoft store in Boston.
On top of the light, gray text that eliminates all the bold, heaviness of the past logo, the Microsoft flag is incorporated into the design, adding four pops of color that are sure to grab one’s attention. The lightness of the new design aims to “signal the future — a newness and freshness,” said Jeff Hansen, Microsoft’s general manager of brand strategy, and the colors signify “the diversity of our products.”
Don’t expect to see the new logo everywhere, though. Hansen said Microsoft will take its time integrating it across all the company’s products.
